Associates Degree (for those who do NOT hold an L.P.N. license)

Nursing Programs Admission Criteria

All programs require that students have been admitted to the college before applying for the nursing program

2-Year ADN Ladder Program

The following are the prerequisites for the ADN Ladder Program:
  • ENG 121 English Composition I
  • BIO 201 and 202 Human Anatomy and Physiology I & II
  • PSY 235 Human Growth and Development
  • Social & Behavioral Science (3 credit hours)
  • BIO 204 Microbiology
  • Take and receive a passing score on the Nursing Aptitude Test. (Specific test to be selected in the near future.)

Wait List

Of the courses listed above, the following must be completed before the student can apply for the program and be placed on the wait list:
  • ENG 121 English Composition I
  • BIO 201 or 202 Human Anatomy and Physiology I & 2
  • PSY 235 Human Growth and Development

As soon as the student has completed these courses and met the following wait list requirements they may apply on line for the nursing program Here.

Wait List Requirements

  • A grade of “C” or better is required for each of these prerequisites and a cumulative GPA of 2.5 for all prerequisites is required for acceptance.
  • Any Human Anatomy & Physiology coursework completed more than 7 years before the start of the Nursing Program will not be accepted.

Program Acceptance

All prerequisite courses must be completed before the student will be accepted into the Nursing Program and given admission information.
In addition, the following requirements are required for acceptance:
  • Both BIO 201 and BIO 202 must be completed with a grade of “C” or better.
  • A cumulative GPA of 2.5 on all prerequisites is required, and a grade of “C” or better is required for each prerequisite course.

Program Admission

Students will not be admitted to the nursing program and allowed to start nursing courses until these requirements are complete and on file in the Nursing Admission Office.
  • Criminal background check
  • Health statement/immunizations
  • CPR Card
